The unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs will visit Levi's Stadium on Sunday to battle the San Francisco 49ers in a rematch of Super Bowl 58. The Chiefs (5-0) topped the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football in Week 5 before getting a bye last weekend. The 49ers (3-3) rebounded from losses in three of their previous four games with a road win in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks.

San Francisco is a 1.5-point favorite over Kansas City in NFL Week 7 odds for this highly anticipated matchup, according to BetMGM Sportsbook. Based on moneyline odds, the 49ers at -125 (1.8) odds are the more likely winners and have an implied win probability of 55.6%, while the Chiefs at +105 (2.1) odds have a 48.8% chance to win this game.

Despite losing its top running back and receiver to injuries, the Chiefs offense rank 11th in total yards after six weeks of action. However, quarterback Patrick Mahomes has thrown a whopping six interceptions for a squad that has won four games by seven or fewer points. The Chiefs feature a run-heavy offense that includes a variety of short and intermediate pass routes.

Kareem Hunt is the backfield workhorse and tallied 102 yards and a score on 27 carries to help the Chiefs throttle the Saints in Week 5. Rookie Carson Steele has netted 117 yards on 33 carries but has lost two fumbles. Tight end Travis Kelce (24-228) headlines a receiver room that includes rookie Xavier Worthy (12-179-2), JuJu Smith-Schuster (9-147-1), Noah Gray (10-119), and Justin Watson (6-87).

San Francisco's eighth-ranked run defense has limited opposing teams to just 101 yards per game and stifled the Seahawks' rushing attack to the tune of 52 yards on 20 carries. Linebacker Fred Warner posted 11 tackles against Seattle and leads the team with 50, including 30 solo tackles. Defensive tackle Kevin Givens has a team-high 3.5 sacks while defensive end Nick Bosa has three quarterback takedowns.



49ers Offense Vs Chiefs Defense

The 49ers offense has continued churning despite playing without top playmakers like Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, and George Kittle in some games this season. Quarterback Brock Purdy is second in the league with 1,629 passing yards and has thrown nine touchdowns with just four interceptions. 

Running back Jordan Mason has turned in an MVP-like season subbing for the injured McCaffrey. The third-year back averages 5.3 yards per carry and has surpassed 100 yards in three games.

Tight end George Kittle (28-283-5) leads the team in receptions and touchdowns, while Jauan Jennings (25-404-3) has posted a team-high 404 receiving yards. Other pass-catchers include Samuel (20-335-1), Brandon Aiyuk (23-351), and Kyle Juszczyk (10-87).

Kansas City's fourth-ranked run defense has held opposing running backs to 88.4 yards per outing and limited the Saints to 46 rushing yards in Week 5. Linebacker Nick Bolton is the leading tackler for a defensive unit ranked ninth in total defense, while defensive end Chris Jones has a team-high three sacks. Defensive backs Bryan Cook and Chamarri Conner have one interception apiece.

The Chiefs are 4-1 against the spread this season and possess one of the top run defenses in the league. Mahomes is connecting on 69.4% of his passes while Hunt has assumed RB1 duties with 171 rushing yards in two outings. Rashee Rice, the team's leading receiver, had surgery to repair the posterolateral corner of his right knee and will miss the remainder of the regular season.

Kansas City is desperate to add a proven wideout to its roster and is guaranteed to acquire a receiver before the upcoming trade deadline. Possible targets include Cooper Kupp, Tee Higgins, DeAndre Hopkins, Mike Williams, and Adam Thielen.

Jennings has 25 receptions for 404 yards and three touchdowns, while Aiyuk has caught 23 balls for 351 yards.

San Francisco signed kicker Anders Carlson to the practice squad as insurance if Matthew Wright cannot play on Sunday with his injured shoulder. Carlson was the Green Bay Packers' sixth-round pick in 2023 and missed a costly 41-yard field goal in the NFC Divisional playoff game a year ago against the 49ers.
